fuck. FUCK!!!!!! I AM SERIOUSLY SO UPSET! I know y’all know this by now, but I love morally ambiguous or questionable characters like white people love The Help and THIS IS HURTING ME! I WANT MORE BOROMIR.

- Mark Reads ‘The Two Towers’: Chapter 1

Nearly every character on this show has managed to get some depth in the script, and Xander’s the same person he was in season one in this episode. Did the writers exhaust their energy reserves or something? Does Xander need to earn more XP to level-up to “Complex Character”? I’m done disliking Xander as a character because it’s so goddamn boring. Writers, please step up your game and do something different. Oh, and if you ever put another line into an episode that suggests that fat people can’t be attractive to pretty girls, I swear I will write you the angriest letter imaginable. I don’t know if you know, but I’m really good at writing letters.

Mark Reads ‘New Moon’ has been released!

panasonicyouth:

Hello, my many Tumblr friends! This is earlier than I planned for, but Mark Reads New Moon is now available for purchase right here!

eBook cover with the words "Mark Reads New Moon" in white on black background, with a rectangular photo of a car in a dark alley, from overhead, and the driver-side door is open.

What can you expect from this second book, cheaply priced at just $2.99?

  • There are 24 chapter reviews, an epilogue play, and a special addendum at the end.
  • Over 100 footnotes of witty and angry commentary, as well as a new method of quoting/sourcing the original material so that it’s not full of long quotes in the actual text.
  • Three brand new reviews. I re-did reviews that were image-based (including that one awful chapter where I just posted creepy images why did i do that) or otherwise impossible to pull off in a book.
  • Most reviews are heavily edited to clear up concepts, correct grammar, spelling, and confusing syntax, and to remove any problematic words, concepts, metaphors, and the like.
  • I still put myself on Team Jacob during this book. I don’t care. Fight me.
  • A cover made by me! That is my own photo! CLEARLY I AM AN ARTIST.
  • It is available in three standard formats: PDF, Kindle, and ePub. Can be read on any Kindle, iBooks, Google Books, the Nook, and any PDF reader.

In the coming weeks, sales from this and Mark Reads Twilight (available via that link above!) are helping me to create a plethora of merchandise, including: shirts, mugs, stickers, buttons, and other such shenanigans to represent the Mark Does Stuff web communities. Stay tuned!

And, of course, thank you for the support! This little eBook experiment is SO FUN.

Everyone go buy this! It’s bound to be hilarious.

I suppose the thought never really crossed my mind, but this show presents the idea that there is probably not a living thing that has affected the entire universe in a more positive manner than the Doctor. Is he bigger than Jesus. Wait, has there been an episode where the Doctor meets Jesus or do the writers generally think hey we’d like to keep our viewers and not piss off the entire world. These are my thoughts. I am sharing them with you.

Mark Watches ‘Doctor Who’: The Christmas Invasion

After many DVD mishaps, I’m FINALLY catching up on Mark Watches Doctor Who. And lo, it is awesome.

Would you walk up to someone and say, “Hey, are you gay?” Or go up to a stranger and say, “Hey, is your best friend/brother/sister gay?” Probably not without knowing someone or having some context to do it, right? So it always strikes me as really bizarre that it’s entirely socially acceptable for people to do that with twins.

- Back To The Motor League - is your brother gay too?
