Meet Ophelia from Shakespeare’s Hamlet, she is about to take her own life. This fate could have been avoided if she had a sassy gay friend.
If Ophelia had had ANY friends at all and not just dudes who wanted to control her, things might have turned out differently.
Okay so a few days(?) ago I read an awesome thing about how the way the director decides to portray Gertrude is the most important thing in Hamlet, and I’m pretty sure it was on tumblr, but all my googling and tag-browsing and likes-browsing is giving me NOTHING. Kate and I watched the David Tennant Hamlet last night and I really want to re-read what this person said in light of that particular adaptation. Anyone know what I’m talking about? Send me an ask with the link or something? I will be forever grateful.
